Stormboard: A Chance for Students to Collaborate
Hello everyone, it's Yutong here, welcome back to my blog! Today I would like to introduce a very useful tool for English class: Stormboard. You can find the website here: https://stormboard.com/dashboard
It's more like an e-whiteboard that teachers
and students can establish their ideas, questions and answers. But it is a much
powerful board that users can create stick notes, comments, votes and
structures. Let's see how to use it in your class!
Step 1: Create your personal and team
folders
You can switch between personal storm and team-shared
storms. And you can also create some folders in each storms and add the
specific members who are allowed to get access to your folder. That is to make
your work more manageable, and keep your members easy to find and reference.
You can also use the panels on the right part
of the site to easily find your tasks and acticities.
Step 2: Create your storm
Click “create your storm” and you need to adjust
the setup of the storm.
You can choose and change your template at
any time. There are many kinds of template that you can choose from, so your
can decide it according to the feature of your teaching scenario.
Step 3: Add some stick notes
Click the “add” button (at the bottom of
the page) to add a stick note, type the content. Here I added a pink note.
Then you can move it to any part of the table! Here I clicked it and dragged it to the left side.
Step 4: Upgrade your notes to a more logical and useful ones
You can build the connection between the
notes by clicking one note and dragging it to another note. Sometimes the connections
can show the logic of each idea, or perform the structure of the knowledge.
Add comments in every stick notes.
Each member can also vote for the sticks, so you can prioritize students’ ideas by votes.
